Consular General Services
Assistance Through CFAY: Connecting You with Consular Services
The Canadian Filipino Association of the Yukon (CFAY) is dedicated to supporting Filipino citizens living in the Yukon by facilitating access to services offered by the Philippine Consulate General. While CFAY does not perform consular services, we help coordinate and provide a space for the consulate to assist our community. Here are some key services we help you connect with:
Passport Renewal and Issuance
CFAY assists in organizing events where the consulate can help you renew or apply for a new Philippine passport, including processing for minors and first-time applicants.
Dual Citizenship Application
We help arrange opportunities for Filipinos wishing to retain or re-acquire their Philippine citizenship while holding citizenship in another country to meet with consulate officials.
Civil Registry Services
CFAY facilitates access to the consulate for registration of births, marriages, and deaths that occurred abroad with the Philippine civil registry system.
Assistance in obtaining certifications like the Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR).
Notarization and Legal Services
By providing a space for the consulate, we enable community members to have legal documents notarized, such as affidavits and powers of attorney.
Assistance with the authentication of documents for use in the Philippines, including diplomas, transcripts, and contracts.
Visa Services
CFAY helps coordinate consulate visits for processing visas for foreign nationals, including spouses and children of Filipino citizens, who wish to visit or reside in the Philippines.
Overseas Voting Registration
We facilitate voter registration drives conducted by the consulate, allowing overseas Filipinos to participate in Philippine elections.
Assistance to Nationals
CFAY works with the consulate to support Filipinos in distress, providing information on how to access legal assistance, welfare services, and emergency repatriation if needed.
NBI Clearance Processing
We assist in coordinating with the consulate for obtaining National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearances required for employment, immigration, or other legal purposes.
Report of Marriage and Birth Abroad
CFAY helps organize sessions where the consulate can assist with reporting and registering marriages and births that took place outside the Philippines.
Community Outreach and Information Sessions
We provide space and support for the consulate to conduct information sessions on Philippine laws, policies, and programs impacting overseas Filipinos, such as updates on tax laws, property ownership, or social security benefits.
Through these efforts, CFAY strengthens the connection between Filipinos in the Yukon and their home country by making consular services more accessible. Our role is to support and facilitate these interactions, ensuring that the needs of our community are met effectively.

Sports and Recreation
The Canadian Filipino Association of the Yukon (CFAY) is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and active community through the organization of cultural events and sports activities that bring together Filipinos and Canadians alike. CFAY proudly hosts a variety of traditional Filipino festivals and celebrations, preserving our rich heritage and sharing it with the wider Yukon community. In addition to cultural events, CFAY partners with the Canadian-Filipino Sports Association of Yukon to offer a robust sports program, including basketball and other team sports. This collaboration not only promotes physical fitness but also strengthens the bonds of friendship and camaraderie within our community, providing opportunities for all ages to engage, compete, and thrive together.
Cultural Events
The Canadian Filipino Association of the Yukon (CFAY) plays a pivotal role in bringing the vibrant culture of the Philippines to life in the Yukon through a variety of events and activities that celebrate Filipino heritage and foster community spirit. One of the most anticipated events on the CFAY calendar is the annual Philippine Independence Day celebration, where the community comes together to honor the Philippines' rich history and cultural heritage. This event features traditional Filipino music, dance, and cuisine, with the Philippine flag proudly waving alongside the Canadian flag, symbolizing the unity and shared values of the Filipino-Canadian community in the Yukon.
Another highlight of CFAY's activities is the Yukon’s annual Filipino Fiesta, a two-day celebration that showcases the best of Filipino culture through a medley of food, music, and traditional games. Held at Whitehorse’s Rotary Park, this festival attracts Filipinos from across the territory and beyond, creating a lively atmosphere filled with joy and camaraderie. The 2023 edition of the Fiesta included a wide array of activities, from Zumba sessions and karaoke to a cultural dance presentation and a Unity Bike Ride. Local delicacies, including the famous lechon, were served, delighting food enthusiasts with authentic Filipino flavours.
CFAY’s commitment to fostering community ties is further reflected in its partnership with the Canadian-Filipino Sports Association of Yukon, through which they organize sports activities like volleyball tournaments and the Unity Bike Ride during the Filipino Fiesta. These events not only promote physical fitness but also strengthen the bonds of friendship within the Filipino community in the Yukon. Through these cultural and sports initiatives, CFAY continues to enrich the lives of Filipinos in the territory while sharing the beauty and diversity of Filipino culture with the wider Yukon community.
